Help Center

PING SUPPLY is a one-man sourcing and inspection service based in Longyan, Fujian, China. You send me a link from Taobao, 1688, Tmall or Weidian. I buy it, film the inspection, and ship it to your door — with one honest number before you commit to anything.

These pages answer the questions I get asked most. If yours is not here, write to [email protected]. I read every email myself and normally reply the same day.

How it works

  1. Send a link. Any product page from Taobao, 1688, Tmall or Weidian. Add the quantity you want. You do not need an account to get a quote.
  2. I quote you one real number. Goods cost, freight by weight, my service fee, and the total. No hidden handling charges. Nothing is bought until you reply "go ahead".
  3. I buy it and inspect it on camera. Quantity, colour, size, obvious defects. I film the parcel being opened and send you the video.
  4. I ship it to your door. Air, sea or express, whichever you pick, with the tracking number the same day it leaves.

One thing to keep in mind: I am one person, not a warehouse with a night shift. If something is wrong I tell you straight rather than quietly shipping it.

Beginner tutorial

Never bought from a Chinese platform before? Here is the short version.

1. Which links work

  • 1688.com — factories and wholesalers. Cheapest, but almost always sold in bulk (see MOQ below).
  • Taobao.com — retail with a huge range. Good for single samples and testing a product.
  • Tmall.com — brand-conscious retail, better after-sales, higher prices.
  • Weidian — small independent sellers; quality varies a lot, so ask me before ordering.

2. What "MOQ" means

Minimum order quantity — the smallest amount the seller will sell. Every product page shows it. If the MOQ is 100 pieces and you only want 5, I will tell you honestly whether that seller will budge, or find a comparable listing that sells smaller.

3. The weight is what decides the freight

Freight is charged on chargeable weight: the greater of the real weight and the volumetric weight (length × width × height ÷ 6000, in cm). A big light box can cost more to ship than a small heavy one. Paste the dimensions into the freight estimator before you decide.

4. Things that cost more

Liquids, creams and powders; goods with built-in batteries or magnets; fragile ceramics; and anything carrying a brand name. The estimator applies these surcharges automatically so the quote does not surprise you later.

5. Reading a seller's page

Look at the first three photos, the reviews with photos, and the sales volume. Ask me to check anything you are unsure about — it is faster than guessing, and I can read the original Chinese page.

Service and fees

My service fee starts at $8 per order. For larger orders, or orders that spread across several suppliers, I quote a flat fee instead. You always see the exact number in the quote, before anything is bought.

WhatHow it is charged
Service feeFrom $8 per order (flat, agreed up front)
GoodsWhat the seller charges, converted at the rate on the day I pay
FreightBy chargeable weight and destination — see Logistics and freight
Domestic shipping in ChinaSmall amounts (often free); listed as a separate line when it applies
Inspection and videoIncluded, every order
Repacking for shippingIncluded

There is no minimum order, no subscription and no monthly fee. If I cannot do an order well, I will say so instead of taking it.

Logistics and freight

Rates below are per kilogram of chargeable weight, in US dollars, and come from published carrier reference prices. They exclude customs duty and tax. Three services are available:

  • Air freight — about 7–12 working days, minimum 1 kg.
  • Sea freight — cheapest per kilo, minimum 21 kg, slowest.
  • Express — the fastest door-to-door option, minimum 0.5 kg.

These are reference rates, not the price you will pay. Freight moves every week and depends on the goods. Use the freight estimator for a quick figure, then ask me for the firm number before you commit.

Customs and taxes

Import duty and tax are set by your country and are paid by you, the importer. They are never included in my quote, because I cannot know what your customs office will assess.

  • I declare parcels honestly, at the value you actually paid. I do not under-declare — it puts your goods at risk of seizure and can cost far more than the duty.
  • Most countries have a low-value threshold below which no duty is charged. Ask me and I will tell you what is normal for your country.
  • If customs holds a parcel, I will tell you what they asked for and help you supply it. Delay caused by customs is not something I can promise against.
  • Some goods are restricted or need certificates (batteries, cosmetics, branded items, certain foods). Tell me what you are buying and I will flag it before you pay.

How to pay me

Payment is arranged after you have the quote, and I tell you exactly what works before you commit. I never take card details on this website — there is no checkout here, and there never will be.

  • Bank transfer — workable for most countries once the amount is agreed.
  • Alipay or WeChat Pay — fine if you have a Chinese payment account, or if a Chinese contact is paying on your behalf.
  • WorldFirst and Payoneer — I am setting these up so overseas buyers can pay in USD more easily. Ask me for the current status before you plan around it.

The practical order is always the same: I quote → you confirm in writing → you pay → I buy and film → you pay the freight when it is weighed and ready to leave. Small orders can be paid in one go if you prefer.

No credit card? No problem. Plenty of my buyers have no Visa or Mastercard. Bank transfer, Chinese payment apps and third-party receiving services all work — tell me where you are and I will suggest the cheapest route.

Receipts and invoices

With every order you get an itemised receipt by email, in USD, showing three separate lines: goods, freight, and my service fee. Keep it — it is what your customs office may ask for.

I work as an individual, not a company, so I cannot issue a VAT invoice or a tax-deductible commercial invoice. If your business needs that paperwork, tell me before ordering and I will say honestly whether the order is workable.

Inspection rules

Inspection is included in every order. Here is exactly what I check, and what I do not.

What I check

  • Quantity against what you ordered.
  • Colour, size and model against the product page.
  • Obvious defects: cracks, stains, broken stitching, missing parts, wrong branding.
  • Packaging condition before it goes into the shipping carton.

What I do not do

  • I am not a testing laboratory. I cannot certify electrical safety, food-contact safety or material composition.
  • I do not open sealed retail packaging unless you ask me to, because it can affect resale.
  • Faults that only appear after use are outside an inspection — but I will still help you take them up with the seller.

Everything is filmed. If you want a specific check — a serial number, a label close-up, a weight on a scale — put it in the order notes and I will film it.

Product storage period

Consolidation is part of the service: I hold your parcels until the whole batch is ready and then ship once, which is almost always cheaper than shipping in pieces.

How long I can hold things depends on what they are. Bulky items and anything perishable need to move quickly. If you are planning to build up a batch over several weeks, tell me at the start and I will tell you what is realistic for your goods before you buy.

Insurance and compensation

  • Every parcel is photographed and filmed before it leaves, so there is a record of what went in.
  • Carrier insurance is optional and priced on the declared value. If your goods are expensive, tell me and I will quote it.
  • If a parcel arrives damaged or short, send me photos within 7 days of delivery and I will open a claim with the carrier and, where relevant, the seller.
  • Where I made the mistake — wrong item, missing piece — I fix it at my cost. That is the whole point of dealing with one person instead of an anonymous forwarding warehouse.

Returns, refunds and disputes

Returning goods to a Chinese seller is possible but slow and often expensive, and many 1688 sellers simply refuse. So the work happens before I buy:

  • I check the seller's record and tell you if they are known to be difficult.
  • For a new product I will often suggest buying one sample first, even if the unit price is higher.
  • If an item arrives faulty or clearly not as described, I raise it with the seller immediately and send you the outcome. Where a refund or replacement is won, I pass it to you in full.
  • Once goods have left China, a change of mind is not something I can refund — please be sure about colour, size and quantity in the quote stage.

If we cannot agree, tell me plainly. I would rather lose an order than have a customer who feels cheated.

Tracking your parcel

You get the tracking number by email the day your parcel leaves, plus the carrier name and the service used. Track it on the carrier's own site — that is always more up to date than a summary I could send you.

Tracking often stops updating for several days on international routes, especially after the parcel leaves China. That is normal, not a lost parcel. If there has been no movement for more than two weeks, email me and I will chase the carrier on your behalf.

If you have an account, you can see your orders and cart any time from the top of any page.
